  • Jed Macosko, PhD

    Jed Macosko, PhD, President

    Originally from Minneapolis, Jed has lived in diverse locations including Minsk, Princeton, Tashkent, Chicago, Copenhagen, Albuquerque, and Strasbourg. He earned his BS from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and completed his PhD at the University of California, Berkeley.

    Following a postdoctoral fellowship with Howard Hughes Medical Investigator Carlos J. Bustamante, Jed collaborated with Nobel laureate Kary Mullis at a biotech startup in Irvine, California. Currently, he serves as a physics professor at Wake Forest University.

    With over two decades of experience, Jed focuses his research on cellular mechanics and molecular motors, while also teaching undergraduate courses on big data and virtual reality. His lab has been awarded substantial external funding, and his publications and patents have made a significant impact in the scientific and biotech communities, garnering numerous citations.

  • James A. Barham, PhD

    James A. Barham, PhD, Vice President

    James is a historian and philosopher of science originally from Texas. He holds a BA in classics from the University of Texas at Austin, an MA in the history of science from Harvard University, and a PhD in the history and philosophy of science from the University of Notre Dame.

    During his time at Harvard, he was awarded a Sheldon Traveling Fellowship to study at the University of Athens and served as a Visiting Fellow at the Byzantine Institute of the Serbian Academy of Arts and Sciences in Belgrade.

    Dr. Barham's research focuses on the conceptual underpinnings of biology. His scholarly work has been featured in several academic journals, including BioSystems, Rivista di Biologia, and Studies in History and Philosophy of Biological and Biomedical Sciences.

  • Jennifer Finley

    Jennifer "Jenn" Finley, Managing Editor

    Jenn earned both her BA and MA in English, specializing in technical writing, from Wright State University.

    After completing her studies, Jenn moved to Okayama, Japan, where she taught conversational English to university students. Upon returning to the United States, she spent a decade as a project manager in the IT sector before relocating to Kentucky, where she homeschooled her four children for five years.

  • Chloe Dembski

    Chloe Dembski, Director of Business Development

    Chloe Dembski serves as Inkwell’s Director of Business Development, where she leads partnership strategy and helps authors transform ideas into published books. She is dedicated to expanding opportunities for writers—whether through institutional collaborations, outreach to academic and professional communities, or guiding first-time authors through the publishing landscape.

    With a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a MicroMasters in marketing, and current graduate study in professional writing, Chloe blends people-centered insight with strategic business vision. Her professional strengths in communication, empathy, and customer success make her a trusted advocate for writers at every stage of their journey.

    A lifelong lover of books, Chloe believes that powerful writing should be accessible to everyone—and she is passionate about building the relationships that make those publishing dreams possible.

  • Winston Ewert

    Winston Ewert, PhD, CTO

    Winston is a software engineer with a strong academic background. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Trinity Western University and went on to complete a Master’s degree in Computer Science and a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Baylor University.

    After earning his doctorate, he worked as a software engineer at Google’s Kirkland, Washington, campus for two years.
