Review Menu

The Review menu in the top bar controls what you see of other people's work: comments, and tracked edits.

This menu used to be called View. Two of its old entries, Index Entries and Boilerplate, now live in the Tools menu.

Comments

Comments toggles comment display. With it on, any chapter containing a comment shows a red comment marker beside its name in the chapter list:

Inside a chapter, the comments themselves appear alongside the editing window:

Resolved Comments is a separate toggle. Resolved comments stay with the document but are hidden by default; switch this on when you want to review what was settled and how.

Viewing edits

Inkwell records who changed what. The rest of the menu decides whose changes are shown as tracked edits:

• View No Edits — hide tracked changes and show the text as it currently stands. Edits the AI agent made are the exception: those stay visible whatever this is set to, until somebody accepts or rejects them.
• View Other's Edits — show changes made by everyone except you. This is the usual choice when you are reviewing contributions.
• View My Edits — show only your own changes.
• View All Edits — show everybody's.

Each collaborator's edits are highlighted in their own colour; hover over a change to see who made it — a passage someone's AI agent rewrote is labelled as theirs and shown in its own colour, so it is never mistaken for something they typed. Chapters that contain edits you have not dealt with are marked in the chapter list.

Custom edit views

View Custom Edits opens a dialog for the cases the four presets do not cover. It lists every collaborator with two checkboxes each:

• Show Edits — whether that person's changes are displayed at all.
• Accept Approvals — whether their approval of a change counts as accepting it.

Underneath, Show Edits Made After takes a date, so you can hide everything that was already settled before a given point and look only at what has changed since — for example since you last sent the manuscript out for review.
